Itís not always easy to get along with your landlord and it can be stressful when a landlord refuses to make important repairs, or wonít provide a service specified in your lease. Fortunately, there are ways for you to assert your rights through Nova Scotiaís Residential Tenancies Act.
On February 6th, Megan Deveaux of Dalhousie Legal Aid Service, and Bruce Muir of Nova Scotia Legal Aid will be offering information on your rights as a tenant.
Other questions that will be addressed include:
-When can a landlord kick you out?
-When can you end your lease without your landlordís consent?
-How can you force your landlord to make necessary repairs?
*Please note, the purpose of this session is to provide legal information, not legal advice. Anyone seeking advice about their specific legal situation is encouraged to meet with a lawyer privately to discuss their matter.
