Family Law
Breaking up is never easy especially when children are involved.

On March 6th, Meghan Brown of Nova Scotia Legal Aid will be providing information about the legal avenues available to families in Nova Scotia who are trying to navigate a separation.

Learn about:
-the difference between the Nova Scotia Parenting and Support Act and the Canada Divorce Act
-the various kinds of custody and parenting time arrangements available for children
-how child support is calculated and what costs are considered special expenses
-how spousal support is calculated and the things courts take into consideration when deciding whether it should be awarded

*Please note, the purpose of this session is to provide legal information, not legal advice. Anyone seeking advice about their specific legal situation is encouraged to meet with a lawyer privately to discuss their matter.
