Established in 1967, the Four Fathers Memorial Library in Amherst houses the largest collection in Cumberland County. The library is named for the four fathers of Confederation who were residents of Amherst: R.B. Dickey, E.B. Chandler, Sir Charles Tupper and Jonathan McCully. The library has an after-hours book return located at the side of the building and the library is open 6 days a week.

Amherst Library houses a large collection of books, magazines, newspapers, audio books, large print material, videos, DVDs, book and tape kits, board books, and graphic novels. To request an item from our collection search our online catalogue and place a hold.
